As 2023 draws to a close, we’ve come together as a team to reflect on some of our best bits from the last 12 months.

It’s been a busy and exciting year for CHP. We’ve grown as a business and as a team, moved to larger premises and won significant new work and projects in a diverse range of sectors – including renewable energy and sector-leading sustainable workspace and industrial.

Since January our teams in London, throughout the UK and in New York have advised on projects across north America, the UK and Europe totalling more than 6.5m sq.ft.

Thank you to all our clients and colleagues for helping to make 2023 our best year yet.

We’re feeling energised and excited to start work in 2024 when we’ll be celebrating 35 years in business, but for now, here are our top 23 highlights for 2023.

1. At the beginning of the year, we were appointed to provide cost management services for a major residential scheme in Dublin. Across Ireland we’re working on residential projects worth in excess of €198million that will deliver 386 new homes.

2. In spring our UK team moved to new offices on Gray’s Inn Road, London, with more space for our growing team.

3. Works started on PR2 – an ultra sustainable industrial space in Park Royal, and in April our client GLi received planning consent for a further scheme in Croydon.

4. We celebrated three senior promotions. Ben Graham and Lee Ashurst were promoted to Associates, and I was promoted to Director.

5. Our client EDF Renewables celebrated significant project completions, including the operations and maintenance base for NnG offshore wind farm in January (pictured) and Bustleholme battery storage system in October. Both projects provide essential infrastructure for the move to secure, sustainable renewable energy.

6. Between April and September, we welcomed seven brilliant new colleagues to our London office, bringing new expertise and experience and bucketloads of enthusiasm to our business.

7. In September a carnival (yes, really!) marked the opening of a leading food retailer’s largest warehouse in the world. CHP provided full cost management services and acted as employer’s agent on the sector-leading, highly sustainable 1.3m sq.ft. regional distribution centre in Luton.

8. Our client Man Group moved into their newly refurbished workspace in New York and the project received LEED Gold accreditation in June. Congrats!

9. We celebrated three colleagues when they became RICS certified. Well done to Henry Gillott and Tristan Lloyd who achieved their APC in July and to Harry O’Reilly who achieved his APC in November.

10. Four years after our work on the project began, the doors opened at Chancery House (pictured)in June. The Office Group’s largest workspace to date, Chancery House offers 124,000 sq.ft. of sustainable work and wellbeing space.

11. We supported our clients to get 17 projects to the planning stage, including V7 who submitted plans for a major office redevelopment in Guildford in October. An existing 28,000 sq. ft. office space will be transformed to deliver 70,000 sq. ft. of low-carbon, cutting-edge sustainable workspace.

12. We’ve been proud to see the positive impact of Charlton Workstack for small business in south London, and celebrated the official opening with our client Greenwich Enterprise Board and the project team in October.

13. We got our UK team together for an excellent team away day in September (pictured). An axe throwing contest demonstrated new levels of competitiveness among the team!

14. Planning was granted by the Secretary of State for Longfield Solar Energy Farm in the summer. Defined as a nationally significant infrastructure project, CHP is providing cost planning and cost management services for the solar energy and battery storage farm in Essex, which is one of the largest in the country.
