Chris Castle
Chris is one of the founding partners of CHP, with more than 35 years’ experience in the construction industry.
His expertise and experience in delivering innovative renewable energy projects is second to none and renowned throughout the sector.
Alongside general quantity surveying and commercial management expertise, Chris has extensive knowledge of NEC, ICC, JCT and FIDIC contracts, contract law and claims settlement.
Chris has worked across various sectors of the industry including construction, civil engineering, renewable energy and specialist industrial and agricultural projects.
He is an experienced trainer, speaker and thought leader on the application, implementation and use of the NEC suite of contracts.

Gerry Hayes
Gerry is one of CHP’s founding partners. Based in London, he was instrumental in setting up CHP’s New York office in 2002.
Gerry has a wealth of construction management experience built over 35 years. He has delivered large complex schemes up to £200m+ for both institutional funds and corporate occupiers in the UK and internationally.
His background in consultancy has equipped him with a profound understanding of clients’ needs. Gerry has specialised in cost control on large complex projects, and he has particular knowledge of fast-track construction methods. His skillset covers all aspects of cost management including dispute advice and contractual claims.
A positive, proactive and inspiring leader, Gerry build teams to deliver complex projects effectively and beyond expectation. He understands the value of giving clients fast and accurate advice to support their decision-making processes – their business always comes first.

James Morgan
James has over 15 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor across a range of sectors with expertise in commercial development, industrial logistics and sustainable construction.
Committed to ensuring clients achieve their vision and commercial objectives, James is motivated to deliver projects that generate positive impact for the people who use the building, the broader community and environment.
Recent projects include Bywater Properties’ Old Paradise Street – an exemplar for low carbon and sustainable building design and among the largest cross laminated timber (CLT) buildings in London.
He was the project lead on No 1 and 2 Stephen Street for Derwent London (BCO National Award for Best Refurbished / Recycled Workplace), led a major refurbishment at 16 Old Bailey for Nan Fung and delivered a 250,000ft2 new build HQ commercial office for a global end user.
James brings a high level of commercial awareness and technical acumen to projects. Highly personable, he cultivates strong working relationships with clients and enjoys collaborating with design teams and contractors to deliver projects that exceed client expectations.

Phil Parry
Phil joined CHP as Partner in 2018 bringing with him almost two decades of experience in cost management. Phil has worked across a range of sectors including commercial, workspace, residential (PRS, high-end and master planning), retail and hospitality.
His previous experience has included professional advisory roles (JLL, Quantem, Arcadis) and client-side experience including most recently as Commercial Director for flexible workspace provider, The Office Group (TOG).
Phil has worked for both institutional funds and commercial property developers such as AXA Reim, Development Securities (U+I), Quintain, Arsenal Football Club, the Crown Estate and other private investors. Previous schemes have ranged in size and complexity but start from £2m up to £800m.
Phil offers a unique blend of skills from his working as a consultant cost manager and time working client side. He uses this broader knowledge and client understanding to define and push the boundaries of the traditional cost management and quantity surveying service.

Kane Wagstaff
Kane joined CHP as a Partner in 2019 having previously held senior leadership roles at JLL, Barclays Capital and Northcroft Group. His relationship with CHP spans more than 20 years, having first worked alongside the practice in 1997 before being a client from 2000 to 2008.
Kane is a successful team builder and has developed a large international network of industry contacts, colleagues and clients, having delivered projects and services on a global basis since 2002.
He has a deep understanding of the property lifecycle and is an expert in advising on project viability, procurement and financial control across major capital projects and investment programmes.

Adam Burgess
Adam has led our New York office as Partner since 2022, after joining CHP as an Associate Partner in 2015
Combining strong technical knowledge, excellent client management skills and significant experience in a range of sectors – including workspace, residential, education, sport and entertainment and science and healthcare – Adam has managed projects ranging from $100million to more than $2billion.
He has delivered high profile projects across the world, including a stadium and precinct for the FIFA World Cup Quarter Final in Qatar and the refurbishment of a global financial services headquarters in New York. He is experienced in delivering complex and specialised projects that deliver on both commercial and design priorities.
A chartered quantity surveyor with more than two decades’ experience developed in both consultant and contractor organisations, Adam has particular expertise in cost management, project management, contract management and reporting and procurement.
He enjoys leading and developing teams and building collaborative and effective working relationships with clients and the broader project team.
