We are delivering complex refurbishment works to this prominent seven storey building in the heart of Kensington – formerly headquarters of The Scout Association – for an international school.
- Refurbishment of seven storey building to tight programme while parts of the building are in use
- New arts, teaching and conference spaces
- Upper floors converted to 76 new student accommodation units
- New external glazing and curtain walling
- Strategic procurement to mitigate impact of rising costs.
The project includes development of new creative arts and teaching spaces, flexible conference space and new student accommodation. The existing upper three floors will be converted to 76 student accommodation units and the lower floor classrooms and existing ground floor reception area will be remodelled and upgraded.
The scheme also involves upgrading the existing MEP throughout the building and replacing existing external glazing and curtain walling.
CHP is supporting the client to achieve a complete building within a tight programme and to ensure maximum return.
The lower floors of the building are still in occupation and use – complicating the programme. CHP is responsible for delivering accurately phased works to minimise impact to our client.
Given the current economic client, costs are closely monitored and long lead in items are fixed and procured early in the process to avoid programme delays and cost uplift.
