Originally completed in 1902 by the local Arts and Crafts designer, C.F.A Voysey, Voysey House was designed and used as a wallpaper factory until a fire in an adjacent factory in 1928. Since then, it has operated as offices and has undertaken several unsympathetic alterations over the years.
- Cost management services for restoration of this heritage building with upgraded office space
- Careful refurbishment of the building to its former glory, coordinating a team of local heritage experts to remove unsympathetic previous alterations and reinstate high-quality, historically accurate improvements
- CHP cost managed the upgrade of the building to provide Grade-A office space, improving the energy rating from F to B
- Coordination across multiple stakeholders including the project team, heritage experts and local community.
In 2020 Dorrington Plc acquired the freehold and engaged CHP, alongside the project team – equipped with a multitude of heritage experts – to restore the building to its former glory.
”CHP have provided the perfect combination of quick response, commerciality and understanding our needs as a developer, and work well in the team.
Bruce Thompson, Director, Dorrington
This project required expert cost control advice due to the challenging heritage features. Upgrading the building will provide Grade A office space aiming to attract more local occupiers and benefiting the local economy. It will also upgrade the building’s EPC rating from F to B, making it more sustainable to operate.
CHP is proud to be involved in this project which is of significant local and historical interest.
