We’re delighted that the Catherine Hughes Building has been highly commended at the 2023 Civic Trust Awards.
Designed by Niall McLaughlin Architects for Somerville College, the brick facade building offers undergraduate student accommodation, study spaces and a reading room for graduate students in the heart of Oxford.
CHP provided cost management and quantity surveying services and expertise throughout the project, which included an intricate layout of 68 ensuite bedrooms across five floors.
Judges for the Civic Trust Awards commented that the Catherine Hughes building is “a beautifully designed building which is simple and modernist, successful and skilful in both massing and scale.”
