New Jersey American Water is the state’s largest water utility, serving over two million people in 176 communities.
The Canal Road Water Treatment Plant, originally built in 1996, required expansion. These plans were accelerated following damage from Hurricane Floyd.
- Cost management of expansion of Water Treatment Plant
- Project included construction of additional 20m gallons per day and involved new settler basins, screening modifications, filter improvements, replacement pumps and emergency generators
- Plant remained operational for the duration of works.
CHP was engaged to manage the costs of this significant project which involved expanding the Treatment Plant to facilitate additional 20m gallons of water per day. The project included the construction of new settler basins, screening modifications, filter improvements, replacement of pumps and emergency generators.
The project was more challenging because it was vital that the plant remained operational while the expansion works took place and there was no disruption to usual service for the client’s customers.
